Provided by YP.comI had Andy Hinz of Ellis County Home Inspections inspect a commercial property for me. The property was built in 1910 and is located in the downtown area of a small Texas community. I was hesitant to move forward with the purchase since the building was so old, but it was the right size and very close to my home so I decided to have it inspected to see if it was a good investment. Andy's inspection made me feel comfortable with the purchase as he discussed with me both the positive aspects of the building and the things I needed to address if I made the purchase. Based on the information he provided I purchased the building, made a few imporovements and am now happily officing close to home. I was extremenly happy with Andy's inspection...he's very knowledgable and highly professional!

Provided by YP.comI was very satisfied with Andy Hinz and his inspection of my new home. He went above and beyond his duty to inform me of special issues that the house I was going to purchase had. Many of which were fixed with a few minor repairs after I purchased the house.

Provided by YP.comI had a new home constructed and had it inspected by Andy Hinz of Ellis County Home Inspections before we made the final payment to the builder. This was some of the best money my husband and I spent in the process of building our home! While my husband and I were focused on cosmetic issues, Andy was focused on compliance with the building codes and home safety. He pointed out numerous changes, some small, but also some which were very significant, which needed to be made before we closed and moved into the home. In addition, his report included suggestions for properly maintaining our home and improving its safety. As an example, he suggested we obtain a carbon monoxide detector since we had gas service and even helped me determine the optimum location for it. I found Andy to be very knowledgeable; in addition, he was prompt, professional and it was a pleasure to work with him.
At a later date, we had him do an energy audit on our home. This saved me from making a $4,000 improvement which would have yielded negligible energy savings! Instead I bought new weather stripping for the doors and lots of new energy saving light bulbs…at a cost of under $100. I would highly recommend adding an energy audit to any home inspection you may have done!
