Provided by YP.comI really don't know anymore with these guys. I can tell you that Ernies used to be amazing. It has changed ownership or management, I think ownership. I have seen a big difference and the last few times I've been there I've left with a somewhat bitter taste. They are still very courteous, listen to your concerns and any info very tentatively. When it comes to calling you when your car is ready... you just better call them or your vehicle will sit. As soon as you call though it's ALWAYS "I was just finishing up your paperwork on it." The last time I was in the secretary scheduled me for the wrong date, my car wasn't even expected. It sat the whole day untouched and wasn't finished until the next day at closing time. This was just for an inspection, no actual mechanical repairs involved. So yeah, in the past they've been amazing, incredibly honest and even ate a lot of costs once when my mothers car had domino effect electrical failures on them. Roll of the dice now I guess?

Provided by YP.comWe drove the vehicle into Ernie’s to have them inspect a leak that was somewhere between my radiator and transmission, because I was leaking transmission fluid. They came back and told me that I had a bad battery, an axle seal leak, a leak in the hose in the power steering and a transmission pan leak. I authorized them to fix the transmission pan leak and the hose in the power steering. I was quoted $278.00 for that work. My husband went and picked the up the vehicle and it died less than a mile down the road. We had to have it towed back through our insurance company, both my husband and tow truck driver noticed that there was transmission fluid on the ground while they were putting the vehicle on the tow truck. We figured out that it was the battery since it would not hold a charge before it was towed, so we authorized Ernie’s Garage to install a new battery which they charged us approximately $160.00 for. My husband told Ernie’s that there was transmission fluid on the ground. They told him that everything was fine and good to go. They state that they did a road test on the vehicle, but while my roommate was driving it home the second time it only made it 2 miles down the road before it started to die in the middle of a busy intersection, my roommate was able to coast it into a side road. When it finally stopped there was a large puddle of transmission fluid on the ground. I called Ernie’s the next day and told them what happened. Matt (manager) said that he would stand by his work and that he would go and tow the vehicle back to the garage and check it out. I asked him if I would be charged for the tow, and I was told no. I did not agree to or authorize any tow charges. I waited 2 days with no word from Ernie’s so I called them and Matt told me that my transmission was ruined and that it was not worth fixing. I proceeded to tell Phyllis that I want to speak with the owner and she told me that he was on an extended vacation and that she would email him, I told her that I wanted my money back for the transmission work because it was leaking the whole time and that was what I paid them to do. Phyllis called my husband on 12/17/13 and offered him $200.00 back but they would have to charge us for the tow and she asked him if he just wanted to call it even. I spoke with her on 12/19/13 and told her that I would not pay for the tow because I could’ve had it done free through my car insurance and I didn’t authorize any charges for that tow. She told me that she would just refund me the money then. My husband went up there to pick up the check from them and Phyllis tried to hand him $50.00 and told him he needed to sign some papers, but husband refused. I spoke with Phyllis at 5:30 pm on 12/19/13 and she stated that she never offered us $200.00. I have never had such an unprofessional experience as a consumer, and I feel like they were upset because we would not allow them to do all of the work they quoted to begin with so they either did not fix my vehicle properly or did something so that we would have to spend more money with them.

Provided by YP.comTHESE PEOPLE ARE SCAM ARTISTS!! AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!!!
I took my car there to find out why it kept stalling out. I was told that they had to repair something involving the spark plugs before they would be able to fully diagnose any other problem. That ended up costing me $215. After that they told me that the car was going to need a whole new engine and the cost would be somewhere around $2500. Since there was no way I could afford it, I drove the car home(against their advise) and it was running about the same or worse than when I had taken it there. 2 weeks I had a friend look at it and found out that it could be repaired for approximately $100. The car is now running great. Beware of these scammers, they are trying to rip people off - especially women who have no knowledge about cars!!!!
