Provided by YP.comI went in to Fountain City Jewelers because I had emailed them regarding custom jewelry. Not even 24 hours after I'd sent the email, Mark (the owner) had responded and asked exactly what I was looking for, and also even sent his cell phone number. Not long after, we'd arranged an appointment to talk about it. He never hesitated to help in any way that he could, whether it was helpful suggestions or even offering to come in early or meet on days when he was off. I finally decided with Mark's help what stone and metal to use for the ring and we started the process of getting the ring constructed. It took about 3 weeks and it was done. I have to say that the ring ended up being much more beautiful than I'd imagined! I would most definitely recommend Fountain City Jewelers to anyone searching for an excellent engagement ring, or for anyone who is looking for a jeweler who provides excellent customer service above and beyond the call of duty.

Provided by YP.comI am an avid watch collector and have been taking my watches to Fountain City Jewelers for years now. Because I consider myself a little on the meticulous side, I completely trust the craftsmanship and loyalty of this impeccable staff that can handle just about any jewelry situation that you may encounter. From something as simple as removing a link or changing a battery, to a full cleaning or buffing, Fountain City Jewelers is the only store I do business with. Almost immediately as I enter the store, they can offer me assistance. They also have a wide array of jewelry, and if you're having trouble deciding on something, they definitely have the skills to steer you in the right direction. Other than grabbing a Thunder Road at Litton's or feeding the ducks at the duck pond, having the privilege of a 5-star jewelry store in my area speaks volumes. Fountain City Jewelers is my one-stop-shop!

Provided by YP.comI tried to do business with this merchant because it was local. Initially, I took in a piece of jewelry for minor repairs. They charged me 2 1/2 times more than competitors. Okay, still willing to give them another chance. Tried to buy a gemstone for a new ring. The gemologist didn't know the type or name of the stone. He mentioned he find out & I said I'd return in a few days. I did & he still had no idea as to its name. Ok, decidedly against that purchase. Still willing to give them a 3rd try & brought in some gold to sell. Immediately, I was told that the gold was "not recoverable." I knew that was a lie because modern refining technology can recover just about any form to precious metal. Walked out, and immediately sold the gold to a gracious competitor. That's three strikes and they're out! Doing business elsewhere.

Provided by YP.comSTAY AWAY!!! They tried to bait and switch. I quickly agreed on a price, shook hands, and left to get cash. When I returned they must have thought I agreed too easily because they told me that they wanted an additional $300 dollars for the same item. They are crooks and probably cheating on their taxes (they "pay your taxes for you" if you pay cash instead of check or credit card, basically anything that leaves a paper trail). Don't trust them.
First let me apologize that your experience with our store was far from satisfactory. I am grateful this matter was brought to my attention as superior customer service depends on superior communication between a company and its customers. Second; after speaking with my staff, I have determined the employee handling your transaction was too inexperienced to be showing merchandise from that case. They failed to read a tag correctly and quoted a piece significantly below my cost. I have ascertained they did not ask for assistance from another employee until the damage was done and the hand shake was made. In all honesty I agree with you that the item should have been given to you for what it was quoted, and I have made this clear to my operating manager. Lastly, we do offer a 10% discount off the total price for all customers who pay with cash (baring any other use of coupons or discounts). We offer this to compete with online jewelry companies. If this offer was presented to you in a way that led you to believe it was anything other than totally ethical, you have my sincerest apologies. I would like to offer an invitation to you directly, to make appointments to meet with either myself or my manager, and I will make this right. Please let us know within 30 days if this is acceptable to you or if there is any other way we can reach a mutually beneficial accommodation. Regards Mark Enix

Provided by YP.comI have always gone to the people at fountain city jewelers when I needed work done on my rings. They will always clean them and check the prongs on the spot if i stop by. My glasses broke not that long ago and I took them there to be fixed. They did it in about 45 min. I just went across the street and got a bite to eat by the time I got back my glasses where waiting on me good as new. Saved me a ton of money compared to buying new frames.
