Provided by YP.comI have a sony 61" model # KP-61V80 and the other day my television went out. I looked online at the sony repair site and found out what the problem was. I read all reviews online and I called around. My husband called and spoke with Greg(the owner) and told him the problem. Greg said he couldn't give an accurate quote unless he actually looks at the problem. Greg said he could be out the next morning between 11-12. He was on time for the appointment. He did look at the t.v and said he could fix it. He gave us a quote that was actually less that all the other quotes we received. I have to say he was very professional,knowledgeable,and came well prepared with all the parts. Greg quoted us one amount and after he started on the job he found several other parts that were burnt out. He replaced all the other parts that were burnt out and cleaned the inside of the t.v without charging more than he quoted us. Our t.v. is already 9 years old and I have to say after he repaired it I think it has a better picture than it did when we bought it. He went above and beyond to fix the problem. I have to say that you can't find many honest people these days that go out of their way to do the job correctly and make sure the customer is satisfied and Greg did do that. I will recommend Gem Electronics to everyone I know.

Provided by YP.comHorrible Service! Called them to repair LG 60" Plasma with no picture! Took longer to fix then stated and will not call us back. When TV was returned its got a picture but is fuzzy and they will not contact us! They call themselves a Christian Owned Business HA! They state they provide a 90 warranty so will see if they respond now that we stopped payment on the check! Technician was nice but could not understand issue and would never use them again!!!!!!

Provided by YP.comABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND!!! The service was simply the best, most courteous, and proficient I have had ever, bar none. The gentleman that arrived was energetic and friendly, and was absolutely technically adept, and he did WAY more than I expected. He was quick, invited me to actually watch him while he did the repairs, answered all of my questions, and performed simply the fastest and best service I could have expected on my Sony TV.
I initially called a couple local Denton (Texas) shops who said I had to bring my TV to them or it would cost around $1,000 to come to my house and just replace the whole board; even if I brought it to their shop one vendor said it would be $500-$750 to replace just the bad components!!! Since I have a small car (Mustang Cobra) I could not transport the TV. So I contacted Sony directly, had set up an "appointment" with a PREMIUM selected repair center referred by Sony for one week in the future, and when they called the next day to confirm my appointment the “Sony” preferred shop actually told me they could NOT help me. Period. No advice, nothing. Greg at GEM Electronics was the next one I called and he was confident and kind. I explained to him what I needed fixed (convergence failed on my KP57HW40 television) and he never flinched--said he could come the next day—which he did!!!
He arrived ON TIME, called 45-minutes prior to arrival, and was professional and swift! My 57" Sony television looks better than it did brand new!!!! He did a custom configuration that is simply brilliant and no other repair shop offered! I am so happy I did not have to spend a fortune on a new TV!!! He charged WAY less than the other shops quoted, by almost half! And he offers the longest warranty in the business!!!!

You really have no idea how much we depend on this TV (as bad as that may sound) but I'm sure glad you guys got got here as fast as you did and fixed it up like new. Not to mention how nice you were and even giving us tips on how to keep the TV cleaner to keep this problem from happening again. God bless

Provided by YP.comThe technician was freindly, polite and knowledgeable. He analyized the problems (error message was "air flow problem" but quickly determined it to be a faulty power module. He was able to repair the large screen TV quickly at my home.

Provided by YP.comFolks, I tell you, I've had the same TV for close to 14 years now, practically my baby and if you only knew how sad I was to hear when my wife calls me at work telling me that it had shut off and wasn't coming back on. I never thought anything would ever going to happen to my baby and I sure as heck didn't want to get rid of it so I went to the phone books and called these guys here and gosh, I was so relieved that he told me that he could have it fixed before i even came from work the same day. They even cleaned out the back and i don't know how many of you have see just how dirty it gets behind your TV but that was real nice of you Greg and I really appreciate everything you've done for my TV.

Provided by YP.comI am old fashioned & actually used the paper, yellow pages to find Gem....what a find. Service call the same day, on time arrival, correct assesment of problem, had the parts, repaired & gone in less than an hour.Such a nice surprise to get what you pay for from someone that does what they say...give them a call.

Provided by YP.comWe had just changed TV services and were excited to test it out when our Mitsubishi HDTV decided to stop working. This happened Friday night and I was sure I would have to wait until the next week to get it back in service. The next morning I decided to call GEM after seeing some great reviews. I left Greg a voice mail describing the problem. I was shocked when he called me back later that morning. On a Saturday! Frank came out that afternoon and in almost no time we were back in HD business. I was very impressed. You will be too.

Provided by YP.comThank you Greg, for sending Tony out to do a professional, punctual, and best priced repair on our Samsung 40". We had two young children at home during the repair, and Tony was gracious, courteous, and very careful to make sure they did not get hurt around his working area. He was there when he said he would be, and in less than 2 hours our TV was working again (the picture had gone completely out - video card). And as icing on the cake...1/3 the price quoted by the Geek Squad for the exact same service. You're definitely going into my list of people to recommend to all my neighbors and friends !!

Provided by YP.comI called around 10am to report a problem with my TV expecting to having to wait days or a week for service. To my surprise, I was offered a 2pm appointment which I couldn't make because of work. I was offered a 6:30p appt. Frank arrived on time, diagnosed the problem within 30 minutes, had the part on his truck, and the repair completed within another 30 minutes. The technician, Frank, was extremely professional and the price was reasonable.
If you need a TV repaired, call these folks first!

Provided by YP.comI just wanted to give a quick thank you to Greg and GEM electronics on their service and help today. See the thing is that a relative of ours donated their old Samsung to us and we were very happy until we tried to turn it on and all we heard we clicking noises and the TV wouldn't turn on. Thankfully we called GEM and they came by and fixed the TV and in less than an hour we had a brand new set. And what I liked the most was that he was so punctual and he had a lot of knowledge on TVs. I already recommended you guys to my whole office staff. Thanks again.

Provided by YP.comI have a Samsung DLP television and had a problem with it losing the picture & powering off. Sometimes it would work & sometimes it would not. I called one television repair man & he thought he had fixed it but it wasn't. I called him & told him it still was not fixed and he wanted to research it. That is when I called Gem television and Greg came out & fixed it in no time & I have not had a problem with it since. Greg is a good television repair man & honest. If you need your Television fixed call Greg!

Provided by YP.comIts been almost 18 years since I've had to call a TV repair man to come out to my house and fix my set and I was very relieved to see that their are still some great service out there like those of GEM electronics. I didn't even know that their were still TV repair shops that work in houses instead of taking the set back to their shop. It is so much more convenient and faster. It was also nice to know that when they mean christian owned they mean it. He was very nice and treated me and my wife exceptionally. And the best part was he was very determined and honest with us telling us exactly what was wrong with our TV and what he was going to do to fix it. Thank you Greg once again.

Provided by YP.comWhen my sister-in-law told me how great you guys were, I doubted her but now i have zero doubts. You guys were sooo fast, in and out in about 45 minutes. I loved that fact that you could practically diagnose my TV just by me telling you its symptoms. I especially love the fact that you were very respectful and punctual and knew exactly what to do as soon as you walked in. I have already referred you to everyone where I work and you can bet I will continue to if I hear about anyone having trouble on their TV's.

Provided by YP.comAfter a local repair service replaced the vertical hold on my TV but ignored requests to come back when the vertical hold failed within the warranty period, I found GEM TV. They were wonderful. Greg sent out a tech the same day I called and got the TV to work again. They give a 90 parts and service warranty and honor it. They have been out 3 times so far, and the last time Greg came and supervised while they resoldered every connection on the board. The TV is working beautifully now, and I hope it will continue to do so. I am very pleased with their commitment to quality, their honoring their promises, and have recommended GEM to anyone who has had trouble with their TV. Service as good as theirs is rare these days.

Last year my 22 year old TV lost its vertical hold. It was "repaired" by one company but the fix lasted only 3 weeks. Then I found GEM TV Repair. They fixed the vertical hold, replaces, capacitors, resoldered most of the board in my home. It took 3 more trips to get the TV to work properly, but I have been enjoying it ever since. This time the power circuits decided to act up. Greg and Tony came to my home and spent 3 hours trying to restore consistent power. But decided to pick the TV up on a Friday and let a diagnostician monitor in the shop. They returned it to me the following week with working power. I was thrilled. They said that practically everything that could be repaired or resoldered was, and that essentially this was a "new" TV. The power works fine, the picture seems brighter but softer, and hopefully it will last another 22 years. I was so pleased with their work the first time that I recommended them to everyone I knew who had an older TV. Considering the amount of time that was spent on this repair, they charged a ridiculously small price, so I added a bit to it. It was worth every penny

Provided by YP.comthese guys are AMAZING! they came out to my house the same day i called - had my Samsung repaired and all my component cables hooked back up in an hour flat, and didn't even charge me a trip fee! they had very reasonable and fair rates (believe me, i called around) i would definitly recommend these guys!

Provided by YP.comNot only did Greg (the owner of GEM) come out on a Saturday, he fixed our 40" Samsung LCD TV on the spot, and at a fair price. I would HIGHLY recommend using them if you have any kind of TV issues. I considered having the Geek Squad fix it, but they charged more and it would've taken weeks. Greg is an honest guy who really seems to value his customers. I wish more companies ran their businesses like he does.
