Good plumbing skills do not always translate into a good business. Here, we have the new status quo in family businesses--the younger generation, sometimes family members, are out in the field, doing the work, while the original reputation builder of the company is resigned to upper management and growing out of touch. Serious lack of attention span or detail. Young man and even younger crew could not follow exceedingly simple directions, coming at the totally wrong time, though we had thoroughly coordinated for another day; punching a big hole in the frame of my well house roof, instead of listening to me and simply removing the ridge cap to reveal the perfect lift point. Upper management does not get a free pass either, apparently isolated from the widely established business practice and definition of the "minimum charge." A minimum charge of $175 does not mean you still charge that amount ON TOP OF the nearly $1000 already on the bill. It means you don't get a free estimate visit. But if you're a paying customer, then the "draw" for the company to come to you to conduct business is the cost to the customer of the services rendered. It's not a fuel charge, because everybody gets billed the $175 min charge. Trying to explain that to the business/family patriarch and matriarch was like talking up to the king and queen of "country backwards". They just don't get it, nor do they care to, suffering a bit from an "I'm the only game in town" attitude. Yes, you can plumb, and drill, but can you do fair and competent business? I take no pleasure in spending my time writing negative reviews, but this is one of those times, amidst the other nice fluffy 5 star reviews, that the harsher truth needs to come into the light. Purpose? Warning that next customer. These are very nice folks, but they are in dire need of a market adjustment--as in, the customer pushes back on bad business practice.

This is by far one of the best companies I have ever worked with. Their knowledge, attention to detail, and customer service is outstanding to say the least. If I could rate them 10 stars I would. They helped us out with a unique situation and I am thankful for their help! Make sure you choose Gentry Drilling!!!

They do a very good job and are pleasant to work with. They don't give any trouble if there are warranty claims for the pumps and are quick to respond.
