Horrible company to work for. Was told to bring my standards of work down to increase speed. They give you a low estimate on the job. Do the work with haste. Then change the negotiated price. Charles Champ will tell you it’s adjustments made by the Champ sons. While the sons use the same excuse if speaking to them. The employees are told to rush jobs and to complete unauthorized add-ons to increase the bill. They do not drug test and allow unlicensed drivers to operate work vehicles. This is still happening today. I just wanted to warn people of this business. The Champs will take advantage of anyone who allows it. So just beware of their scam.

I called for a quote on my grass. They gave me a good price but then 2 months in told me they would have to raise my price because I did not get them any business from my neighbors. This was never the understanding, but I did talk them up. I agreed to raise it $10 a week which they agreed to. Then after mowing one time they stated if I could not secure their services for our Home Owners Association work which I was trying to help them get they would not come back out to cut our lawn even at the new negotiated price. Think twice before working with this company.

Grassmasters came out to blow ...

Grassmasters came out to blow in mulch in my backyard. The team did an ok job but left lots of low lying shrubs covered with mulch. When I asked about this, the lead applicator said the rain would wash it off. The next day I noticed almost all my plants were brown around the edges and quite a few looked like they were dying. With all the rain we've had this summer, they were looking better than ever before Grassmasters came out to mulch. After calling the company and doing my own research, it became apparent that the mulch used was hot. This means that the mulch was either not cured enough and too green and/or that the mulch hadn't been periodically turned to prevent the mulch from overheating. No one wanted to take responsibility for the problem- not the owner, not the mulch supplier, no one. Trying to be understanding of the issue, I had asked that Grassmasters could at least replace a handful of the more severely burned plants and come back and trim off all the brown areas. Almost every shrub was effected. I never heard from Grassmasters again. They had already collected my 300.00+ dollars, so I guess I can patiently wait a year or two for all my plants to recover from the damage. I won't be calling them back. It's a companies responsibility to right the wrongs they create no matter who is at fault. I wouldn't recommend them after my experience.
