My husband and I were looking for an electrician to re-wire a home we recently purchased in Annandale, NJ. Ken was one of 3 electricians we interviewed for the job and the most thorough by far. He spent a couple hours scoping out the extent of the knob-and-tube in the house, so that we could feel confident in his estimate. He not only removed and replaces all the knob and tube, he also corrected several other sub-code electrical issues in the house for less than his original estimate for just the knob and tube. He always took a careful approach to planning his work to minimize any notches that needed to be cut in the lathe and plaster walls and also to think of the way to do things that would best accommodate any changes we might want to make down the road. Ken also got the whole project done in the timeline we discussed so that we could move into our new home on time. He is excellent!

Unfortunately 1 star is the lowest possible rating. Initially, I thought I found a reliable electrician. The owner came out to look at the job and then said he would get back to me. After repeated emails and phone calls I finally got a price for some outdoor work and I gave him the go ahead to file for a permit and do the job. After over a month, I finally got a hold of him by phone (he doesn't respond to emails) and asked when he was going to schedule the job. He stated that the municipality has still had not prepared the permit, but but a quick call to the local municipality confirmed that one had never been filed. When I challenged him about the permit, he said he had mailed the application in right away and promised to file another one the very next day in person. Two weeks later, the local municipality confirmed that a permit application had still not been filed. Why not just say you are too busy instead of lying and wasting people's time. After so much delay, untruthfulness and wasted time, I would not trust this electrician to change a light bulb. I suggest finding another electrician, someone who is honest and truthful, I know I will!!
