Provided by YPmobileThis company, also known as Empire Carpets is a sham. April Segovia took $1450 from us on the promise of installing carpets within 48hrs. The date of install was also confirmed twice with John Segovia, owner. On install date no one showed up. After trying to contact someone by phone for 8hrs, it was only after stating a civil suit would be filed that April Segovia texted back basically saying it wasn't her problem and to be patient. John finally called my husband and gave 2 more promises of an install date after demanding he apologize for threatening a law suit. On the new install dates no one arrived. After I visited my bank, to my surprise my banker called John and he told her he would refund the money on a certain date and then failed to do so. He has since refused further communication and has done NO work but still has our money. He is a criminal with a prior history of theft under $1500 and theft $1500-$20k; to which he pled guilty and was convicted! We only contracted to have him perform work after mistakenly thinking this was the Empire Carpets from the tv commercial ads. These people are frauds!

Provided by YP.comLast November, we contracted with J & A Mobile Showrooms (aka Empire Carpets and Showers) and its owner, John Segovia of Arlington, TX, to install solid oak floors in the upstairs of our home. While the floors themselves turned out fine, we have never been able to get Segovia to complete the job which included installing new baseboards and door frames throughout--with us providing the materials! Not only was the work not completed as per our contract and was substandard in quality, but the crew put our custom window shades in the bathtub where dripping water turned them into a heap of mold and mildew. Totally ruined! After the initial "sales pitch," we could never get Segovia or any of his representatives to come to the site to see the unfinished or poorly finished work, to talk about the ruined shades, and to discuss how he intended to finish up the job. Apparently a phrase in his contract that states: "No repairs or claims can be done until job is paid in full" means that you are obligated to pay him now, but he is not necessarily obligated to give you what you have contracted for afterwards.
Rather than remediation, we got threats of a Mechanic's Lien and a Theft of Service lawsuit. Our last communication ended with Segovia saying that he "would see us in jail." THIS MAN IS A CROOK OF THE WORST KIND AND IS TO NOT BE TRUSTED!

Provided by YP.comDO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. We contracted with Mr. John Segovia dba J & A Mobile Showroom on 6/15/2009 to replace flooring and carpet. he said it would take 3 day so we paid him most of the money, He would only take a check in his name not the company ,said it was a bank error,Or cash.He started the job and on the 4th day he quit and was very arrogant and demeaning. I contacted my attorney and Mr Segovia was arrogant to him also. Mr Segovia filed a bogas lien against my property. We took him to small claims court,he refused to show. We won a judgment against Mr. Segovia. To date he has refused to pay the judgment or remove the bogas lien. I have documentation to prove my statement
