I contracted with RoadRunner Auto Transport to ship my car from Louisiana to California. My story actually begins with Montway Auto Transport, who is equally, if not more, distrustful as RoadRunner. Montway never showed to pick up my car and I was moving out of the state in less than 48 hours, so my mom found RoadRunner and gave them a ring. Rob, the salesperson, sold her a dream--told her that someone would be out to pick up my car at 3pm the next afternoon. He told her that he would have to charge her an additional $450 for an expedited pickup service since it was within 24 hrs. Very specific times and offers. The next morning, Montway calls back alleging that they have someone to pick my car up that day (after I complained and cancelled with them) and that RoadRunner was misleading me. Montway had less than nice things to say about RoadRunner, and vice versa, but ultimately they were right. RoadRunner did lie about having a confirmed driver, and my car was not picked up until the day after I left town. Because of the great customer service from Victoria, who apologized for Rob's misinformation, I agreed to make due and have my car shipped anyway. Victoria transferred me to someone in billing to discuss the price since I was charged extra for "expedited pickup." That person was rather rude, and never apologized for the miscommunication. They refused to refund my money since I was no longer getting quick pickup. But, at this point, they already had my car and I was tired from the moving process, so I went with it. I received a confirmation email stating exactly what was charged to my credit card as a deposit, as well as very distinct payment instructions for the driver. When the driver arrived, I showed him the email and gave him the check. He was told to collect $50 additional over what I was quoted; however, after I showed him the email, he took the check and said that the two companies would hash it out. A couple days later I get an insane phone call from RoadRunner, accusing me of purposely shorting the driver and that I owe them $50. The person on the phone was extremely unprofessional, and she personally disrespected me by calling into question my character. She claimed that I was charged a different amount on my credit card and that I owed the driver $950 as opposed to $900. I plan to check with my credit card company tonight to verify what I was actually charged. However, the confirmation email I received clearly states to give the driver a certified check for $900. If I have the money to pay you over $1,000, surely I can pay $50... BUT I was not quoted for that by RoadRunner. I paid what I owed, and now they want more. They lied to get my business and fed me a lie about an "expedited pickup" and now they want even more money on the back end. The woman from RoadRunner got so irate with me that I ended up hanging up the phone because the call was causing me distress. Yesterday, my mother received a voicemail from Jay Phillips calling her a "mf-er" and the b-word. . . all over $50. The woman accused her of screening her phone calls and “blowing smoke up peoples a**es.” I’ve never seen such an unprofessional business in my life. I wouldn't have even minded paying it and clearing up whatever the misunderstanding is, but I refuse to be berated and disrespected and I definitely will not allow anyone to speak to my mother in such a manner. No professional business should treat its customers this way. RoadRunner owes me $450 for making promises that they could not keep, related to the expedited pickup. More so, the woman I spoke to at RoadRunner owes me an apology for character assassination, and the woman from Jay Phillips who left my mother that ridiculous voicemail surely owes my entire family a sincere apology for her unbelievable behavior.

Approach this company with caution! I had a motorcycle shipped with this company last year. I went with them because they provided me with the best price. The person they had transport my bike was a complete idiot. He transported my bike along with a few other items to include a golf cart. All these items had the keys left in them from Largo Fl all the way to his final destination. He lost my seat on his way there. This wouldn't have been a big deal if Jay Phillips or their insurance company actually had any follow through. He was supposed to contact me when he got close so I could meet him at the house. He showed up without calling and I did not get home from work yet. Which I was prepared to leave early. My roommate said the guy almost dropped the bike because he did not know what he was doing. He almost dropped the bike on the trailer. He rode it through the sod instead of the drive way. Then again almost dropped it again. He then proceeded to try and take two hundred dollars more than the agreed amount. Although they were responsive about the situation, I contacted the insurance company. I called Jay Phillips and the insurance company a few times to receive absolutely no returned phone calls. I contacted the company once again, and recieved no response from J. Phillips. I emailed them a month later and still nothing. I had to shell out another $130 for another seat. They have incompetent drivers and do not follow through when there is an issue. I ended up paying $630 for some idiot to tow my bike on the back of a trailer attached to a Ford F-150 and not a closed truck. Just imagine if someone stole it off of the back of the trailer CONSIDERING THEY KEYS WERE LEFT IN IT WHILE IT SAT ON AN OPEN TRAILER! I'd be out $6000.00 instead.
