I had a similar experience! Have called on Joe several times in the past to repair various appliances and he was nice, knowledgeable. efficient and reasonably priced, But something is very different! When our refrig stopped cooling he came out and looked at it and told us it needed a new fan and it would take about 3-4 wrk days to get the part and his partner with him charged $50 for the service call which Joe had always just included in the total bill at completion of job. But since I trusted Joe I wrote them a check that day,not wanting to be w/o refrig for very long. Long story shortened...it took 3 wks to the day to find out the fan they ordered and put in and paid an add $104 for did not solve the problem and I was finally told by his partner on the phone that it would cost $7-800 to get it going! This was after repeated attempts to contact them and leaving messages with little response! I feel cheated and am in touch with a lawyer about filing against them! Anyone else have this experience?
