Kooser Auction Service
In 1939, at age 10, when H.H. Kooser sold his first pony at the Atchison County Sale Barn, everyone knew he had a gift.Harold continued to hone his auctioneering skills in 1950 at his home in Marysville, KS by crying benefits, etc. He moved to Topeka in 1956 with his wife Goldie and son Steve. Harold worked many jobs to support his young family. Gas station attendant, newspaper carrier and eventually ended up working for the State Highway Commission. Harold worked for the State for nearly 20 years. In 1960, Goldie gave birth to son Daniel Lee Kooser. During this time, Harold's love for auctions and working with the public drew him to many local auction houses in the Topeka area. In 1967, Harold ended up at Highway 24 Auction House owned by Walt and Mary Wilk. In 1974, with the support of his family and the encouragment from his friends, Harold decided to make his auction business his permanent employment. So, He and Goldie started their own business, Kooser Auction Service. We can help with all of your Auction Needs!
