About La Jolla Pools San Diego native Bart Jacobs bought La Jolla pools in 2005, and turned an ailing company into one of the premier pool-contracting companies in San Diego County. Bart began his successful career in the swimming-pool industry in 1994 at the former Catalina Pools in La Mesa, CA. While there, he learned about every facet of the pool business, from the basics of good customer service to the technical aspects of top-quality pool construction. Stints at Pool Supply Center between 1995 and 1997 added even more to his business knowledge and experience. Then, in 1998, Bart founded his own pool-service company, caring for more than 100 pools per week on his own. By 2000, Bart was prepared to take on even bigger challenges. That's when he founded a company called The Pool Genius, and began to build, remodel and repair pools throughout the county.
