This is a correction to my earlier post.



I hired Mattco Landscape company for a landscape improvement project. Despite my cardinal rule not to give money upfront i handed $2600 as a downpayment for materials. I was assured by the owner (Matt Haight) that he has enough employees, equipment and experience to tackle the project. It turned out none of it was true. He has beat-up truck, an excuse for a bobcat and no employees. He rented an excavator and had a guy he hired the night before to operate it who quit after 4 hours on the job. His “employee" told my neighbor he is an electrician by trade and has nothing to do with landscaping. Matt made a huge mess and left. I called him for days after that and he told me he will be back in 2 hours about 8 times but never showed up. I offered to pay him for the “work” he did and asked for the difference back. He agreed but never gave me my money back. Stay away from this company and never give him any money upfront.
