ABSOLUTE WORST - DO NOT USE

My husband and I have used Mega Maids for the past year or so. Like Bill, grr and techgeek75 who wrote reviews before me, this is EASILY the worst customer service we have ever experienced. The cleaning itself started off decently - they met our standards for the first few months. Then, things started to slide. We noticed things like they never put back things where they found them, there were "sticky" spots missed on the kitchen floor, etc. We also noticed they would change the price of their add-ons from month-to-month (like the extra charge for cleaning inside the refrigerator, etc). But we became complacent and just rolled with it. We really shouldn't have. First, my husband caught one of them STANDING on our leather couch with their tennis shoes on in order to clean the ceiling fan. Now, we have a stepstool available just 10 feet away. He complained to the manager, Linda, (whom we now found out is the owner) and he never heard back from her. Then, we found a broken item that was never disclosed to us. My husband is very particular and checks their work when he comes home at the end of the day, so he knew they broke the item. He called and complained, and Linda claimed she would look into it. She NEVER called us back. The item was a gift from me for his birthday one year. We let that issue go, too, figuring that people make mistakes. But just recently, they broke another item...AGAIN. This was once again a gift from me to my husband - a personalized item that would be difficult to re-create. This time, we asked to be refunded the amount that we paid for the item. We provided Linda with the link to where we bought the item so she knew how much it cost us. She offered to "glue" the item back together. We refused. It was only $200 or so, but to us, it was the principle. They broke it; we had a note from her employee admitting to breaking the item; she should refund us the amount of the item. She agreed to pick up the item and have it appraised by her insurance company. We gave her the item. Then, she calls us several days later saying she had glued the item back together...after we expressly told her that was not what we wanted. On top of all of it, she said she would be dropping it off at our home while we were home. We waited several hours. She never came, and she never called. The next day, she calls saying she had dropped off the item at our house by the "planter." We looked by our planters and there was nothing there. We let her know, via email and phone, that the item wasn't where she said she left it, and that we would be seeking damages if she caused the item to be stolen/lost. She then called and said that she left it inside our home by a plant by breaking into our window! That's right...she did not even use her key...she went through a screen window (anyone who saw her could have used what they saw and broken into our home)...and dropped the item by our indoor plant. Who does that? Then here's the worst...When my husband emailed his intent to seek damages if we didn't recover the item, she called him back and left a threatening voice mail. She told him, "Why don't you be a man and answer the phone? You want to cancel your service? I will GLADLY GLADLY give you your key today. I will throw it at your face." She basically threatened to commit battery on my husband, and the threat itself can be considered assault. It makes me want to laugh. What does anyone hope to accomplish by resorting to violence or the threat of violence? Why couldn't she just have handled this situation in a professional manner? From here on, I will do my absolute best to let the entire HB community know how absolutely awful Mega Maids has treated us. Stay away!
