Provided by YP.comCONS: It is virtually impossible to contact them over the phone, thus it's very hard to make an appointment. When I need to reach my doctor for whatever reason, I can never reach him. I went to the dentist there and after having work done, I ended up which an infection, when that has never happened at any other dentist. They do not have much of the diagnostic equipment they should have--I've been in agony from stomach pain for the past 11 months, and still do not have the slightest idea why. I'm thinking of going today to get a referral to "their" Gastroenterologist (with whom you cannot make an appointment, you have to go to the place in the morning, and come back in the evening to see if you can get in, which is why I didn't go several months ago), but I don't know if they're open or not (it's Mardi Gras day) because they never answer the phone. They tend to rush through patients, sometimes not even allowing you to speak, but I guess a lot of doctors do that.
PROs: They are affordable, can write prescriptions, and they're good for pediatrics and basic check-ups. There usually isn't a long wait, but it depends on which clinic you go to. The average wait at the main health dept. on Bayou st. is about an hour or two, but at Semmes clinic, the average wait is 30 minutes. Cost per visit is based on income; since I am an uninsured, unemployed student, I only pay $10. I guess it's true that you get what you pay for.
