We hired Joe Jones and Patriot Remodeling to do a few items around our house. These items included putting up insulation and walls in our unfinished garage, changing out two doors, installing a light, and replacing and painting columns on our front porch. At first Joe seemed to do quality work. The insulation and walls went up quickly in the garage. When Joe came back the next day he was able to install lights and replace the front door to our house and the other door that had suffered termite damage and I was happy to pay in advance for many of the items that were still in progress. It was at this time that I started to see issues with Joe’s work, for example he did not replace the king stud that he removed from back door due to termite damage, and I had to remind him to do it. Also, in his rush to leave he had initially installed the front door handle backwards so that it locked from the outside. Again, I understood that mistakes happen and understood that he was in a rush. However, these little things prompted us to take a closer look at Joe’s work overall.
After a few back and forth calls to figure out a good time, Joe came by the house and we went over everything that still needed to be done, finish replacing the columns in the front of the house and painting them, caulking around exterior lights, filling cracks, replacing the cover to the fuse box, rehanging a wire that went around one of the back doors, and fixing the front door that he replaced. By this time I had paid the full price of the contract plus an additional $100 for materials (for which we never received receipts). Joe agreed to fix everything, and assured us that everything will be done to our satisfaction by the end of the week. Days went by and Joe kept promising that he would come and finish the work, but failed to show up or call. On no less than 7 separate occasions did Joe promise to show up and finish the work and did not show up. Our calls to Patriot Remodeling went unanswered. When we called from a different number (work number for example) and Joe picked up, he promised that he will be over to fix everything a day later and then again did not show up.
After more than a month and a half of trying to get one day’s worth of work done we requested a portion of our money back multiple times to no avail. We only requested that they refund the 2nd check which was paid upfront after the garage was done. In fact Patriot Remodeling actually insisted that we still owed them $200, even though the contract had been paid in full and they were given an additional $100. My wife has contacted Patriot Remodeling and Michelle Jones, who handles the finances for Patriot Remodeling said that we should use the money that we supposedly owed them to find someone else to finish the work. We have had received quotes from two other licensed contractors both of whom have told us that the doors were installed incorrectly, the work overall was unprofessional, and that it would be at minimum $660 to just finish the job. Both contractors recommended completely rehanging the doors /adjusting the frames, which would be an additional $250-$425 depending on the quote.
Overall, Patriot Remodeling were less than professional in their work ethic, consistent no-shows, how they handled our concerns, and how they failed to respond to both text messages and voice mails. In the end the work was not finished and it was clear that Joe rushed through many items with no concern for detail. All our efforts to get our money back have failed. I would encourage anyone not to work with Patriot Remodeling neither Joe nor Michelle Jones. I am completely dissatisfied with this company and hope that this review will serve as a warning for any person considering doing business with them.

This guy is great, he did a wonderful job and finished in a timely manor. I would recommend him to anyone!
