Provided by YP.comTom at Penguin Pools built our pool as part of a new construction house in Brooksville. They would not provide actual samples of the deck pattern despite several requests; only photographs and no description of scale. It took my finding them actually putting the material down before I could see how wrong the pattern AND color was. I had to withhold escrow on the closing before they'd repair it. The resurfacing they did was poor quality at best, but at least it didn't look like a sloppily tiled bathroom. Flash forward 2 years. The tiles and coping are cracking in two places around the pool. I called PP and they charged me $400 to repair the cracked tiles (withtiles I had to purchase). They offered no explanation as to why they were cracking, however. Within 2 years of this 'repair' the tiles had cracked again. Flash forward 4 more years. Now I'm having the pool coping replaced because they failed to properly build the pool in the first place. No expansion joint between the pool deck and coping plus a complete lack of thinset mortar between the coping and pool shell means the coping popped off and was loose all around the pool. That's why the tiles were cracking. Of course it's well out of warranty and they won't even return my calls at this point so I have to have another contractor fix their shoddy, inept, incompetent work. Do yourself a favor and avoid Penguin Pools! There are other, better pool contractors. Pick one of them, any one of them. Just not Penguin Pools.
I am the owner of Penguin Pools & Spas, and am shocked at this review. Your statements are self-serving and defamatory. You raised an issue to us about the decking work that was completed on your pool. We offered to redo the work, at NO cost or charge to you whatsoever. Alternatively, we offered to give you $1,000 credit off the bill to account for your dissatisfaction (even though we did not agree with your position). You chose the $1,000 credit and this was paid to you by Penguin Pools. Then, you called up subsequently and complained that there was a crack in the deck. At this point, the deck was out of warranty. Interestingly, you represented to us that this was the subject of an insurance claim that you submitted through your insurance for reimbursement. You represented that you were paid by your insurance company for the very events you are complaining about. You are seeking to unjustly enrich yourself at the expense of the good name of Penguin Pools. Our longevity in this busines speaks for itself. We have been in business for 33 years and have never had a complaint like this before. It is unfortunate that you feel the need to be so callous and dishonest in a public forum, and would advise you to educate yourself as to the repercussions of doing so.
