These guys just couldn't get it right. They were a sub to our contractor for the summer of 2012. Painted each wall roughly 6-7 times (not counting if they did two coats each time). Every spot that was missed was visible, which they blamed on the fact that we used semi-gloss paint, which multiple painters have told us is a garbage excuse. Every touchup spot was visible. Their sanding/surfacing skills are terrible. Did not paint above or below trim of doors/windows because "nobody sees it" even after we complained and asked them to do it. The builder claimed "this is how people do it in Virginia" which we the asked other companies who said that is not true. Did not properly paint multiple areas in closets because they are not seen. They did not remove the face plates before painting, MULTIPLE TIMES, even after the builder asked them to. They painted an entire room the wrong color, then lied about it and said it was the right color, then repainted the room the "same color" which was definitely a different (correct) color. We even had the old bucket of a different color name and the marks where they had blobbed a color of the old and new to see the difference, which was obvious. They did not mix the paint well or clean their brushes properly---had several coats where different sections of the wall had streaks of different colors. During one coat of the walls they left shards of metal/fabric from their rollers all over the wall. They use "only Sherwin Williams" paint because "it is the best" yet each bucket mixed had to be used on entire walls because the colors never quite matched. One time they ran out of paint halfway through painting a wall and came back with the same color paint and it was a noticeable difference, then had to paint the whole wall again on another visit. We highly doubt we can ever touch up a room without having to paint entire walls due to the color variations of the Sherwin Williams paint. Our builder kept having them come back time and time again (who knows why he didn't just find another company) and they kept screwing up the job each time. Finally the builder called in another company to fix the job, and it turns out they have fixed multiple jobs for Production Painters before. Oh, and they also smoke and drag the smell through your house, even when you ask them not to smoke. If you want the job finished properly, do not call Production Painters.
