Had a problem with the well 2 winters ago when it was extremely cold. Well is the type with the pressure tank in the well casing, it was originally installed by Shawver We had Shawver came out and they determined the switch inside the well casing was frozen. They heated it up and it worked until the next day. They returned, put in new well pump. Same thing happened the following day - they placed a trouble light down the well to plug in when it got really cold. This worked. We requested 2 times that the old well pump be returned before we paid the bill as it seemed logical that the new pump wasn't really required. The other pump was only about 3 years old. They never returned the pump and we paid the bill. Used the trouble light again this past winter and water pressure was really reduced. Had another company come out and it turns out that the plastic tubing running to the switch had holes melted in it from the trouble light. Other company indicated that there was another type of switch that could have been installed that wouldn't freeze. They were very surprised that Shawver put a trouble light down the well - with the holes in the turning water was spraying all over the trouble light. The well pump has been running continuously for about 6 months, electric bills have been outrageous. Would not recommend these folks to anyone.
