I was forever back and forth on if we were going to need a dj or a well placed cd player. My dad and mom insisted it would be the best to hire a DJ. So my dad offered to pay and said he would look for someone- on short notice. A relitive of mine is friends with Bill from Southern Beat. My dad gave me his number to call, to discuss the music. It goes down hill from here.



Call Bill, first day- I tell him I want 50s and 60s music played, walk us down the isle to whatever you would like, and here are 3 songs I need played for the dances, two of witch I need to give you song titles for later. Thats it- no money dance, no cake cutting song, no tossing of the garter- SIMPLE- Bill asked me many question's that had no relation to my wedding. I said I didnt need a song for cutting the cake, he acted as if it was the end of the world as he did every time I said no on somthing. When I said I didnt want line dance's he dared to say- "Well I was just thinking, what if someone bought you a really nice gift, and all they wanted to do was line dance?" He said this not once- but 15 diffrent times! Man, Im telling you no line dances, I know for a fact, no one is going to ask or care!



When we came down to the actual day, I had not been able to get in contact with him for the past 4 days so he still didnt know the song titles for the bride/ father or the groom/mother dance. I wrote them down on a sheet of paper and had them sent down to him, he had the songs and was able to play them. When I lined up to walk down the isle I was just in time to watch Bill fuss at my husband's groomsman was they walked out. Quit walking so fast!!! He actually pulled one of the men back to him and told him to slow down. I was later told he was just as rude to my bridesmaids.



As far as the music, the sound was okay and the song choice was fine. But I cant help but feel like we could have done better. I am thankful we were able to get him short notice and for a cheap price get what you pay for I guess.



All in all, Southern Beat will not be at my next event.
