Provided by YP.comI recently returned from work at 4:30am and noticed a major water leak. Upon my inspection, discovered my water heater of 7 yrs was the cause. Using the BBB & Yellow Pages, I believed I was making an educated choice by selecting Spartan Plumbing Inc.
Friendly Tech arrived on time, inspected and agreed the water heater was the cause, installed a 50 gal gas unit, no new copper/brass fittings were installed (Tech re-used the old fittings) and the old unit hauled away at a total bill of $1,189.00 which includes a 3 yr Spartan warranty. Twice, I asked of any discount rate - none offered. The going rate from 7pm-7am, I was told.
After the fact, I contacted Lowe's was informed cost at approx. $740.00 retail meaning at this price they are making a profit (unit, labor, parts & an $18.00 permit) plus tax. Spartan never disclosed to me a permit was needed (documentation of installation for resale purposes)!
Due to Spartan Plumbing's lack of integrity, I would not recommend this company to others. Lesson learned after a stressful moment when water damage occurs, no choice, it had to be fixed!
