Sunrise Detox

Provided by YP.comThey are making budget cuts everywhere. The only good snacks at night are in the vending machine that costs money. What did I pay all this money for then!!! The only thing they do right is make detox too easy for the patients. Basically another revolving door for addicts to get their fix when they run out of money. The call center will make false promises that the facility cannot live up to. Coming down off the Suboxone is almost as bad as withdrawing from Heroin. Good LUCK

Provided by YP.comeveryone who is complaining about their child or who ever being more drugged? and your upset? that is because you have absolutely no idea what detox is, and what is to be an addict. and they are not high as everyone is saying. those meds, are for one purpose only. and they work on everyone who wants to get better. the main drug suboxone is so they don't feel the massive sickness you get when you detox. sure you get a little sick as they have to wait 12 to 20 hours before giving them the meds. this medicine makes nobody high. unless you have never done a drug in you life. but for us addicts? we don't feel a thing. now, the trazadone? that is to help you sleep. do you want your kids awake for those 12 to 24 hours while they detox? librium. this medicine is to function as a tranquilizer. this relaxes the patient. so of course if you talk to them they will slur their words or seem out of it. their body is going through hell. these meds are essential in helping the process. they don't dope your family up. the take them off the drugs they are on, and all the meds they are given to help them detox can be weaned off slowly and then its up to the individual and support of the family to help them get to meetings. but do your homework before bashing about drugs or what they put them on. your not doctors and have no idea what it takes to make us comfortable. so what if we are out of it for a few days. better then having nothing and puking and getting so sick you hit the street again. now, as for the staff? i happen to know first hand one of the doctors who run it. This doctor saved my life. i can not speak of insurance problems because i don't have great insurance but never had an issue. but if you want great doctors, and people who actually know what they are doing and will make your loved one comfortable? this is the place to go. to judge the doctors for giving them meds that make them tired? you should also know two things. one, addiction is an illness and your born with it. it's also hereditary. this is not a choice, we are sick. the only choice we have is when we know we have a problem and we don't get help. that is then our problem. second, when you detox, at the end of it, its normal to get tired even if you did not take meds. your body is finally releasing from all those drugs. its tough on the body so you get tired. the meds just make it easier. i know its hard to see your loved one tired, and slurring their words but its all part of the process. try to focus on your loved ones and not the meds they are getting to make the transition easier for them.

Provided by YPmobileThis is another typical south florida detox that over medicates and ultimately hurts sick people in vulnerable positions. They "refer" patients to facilities based on nothing and what they get in return. I wouldn't send anyone here ever. The locals call it re-tox, not detox.

Provided by YP.comBeware Parents. The staff didn't listen to our concerns when we called on three different occasions concerning the state of my son. Every phone call home (yes they are allowed phone access) he was slurring words and angry. The first phone called to the director and the head of nursing should have made them aware that they had been over medicating my son. At that point I would have thought that they would have reviewed the medications and made adjustments but they didn't, as the days passed the phone calls got worse. When we picked him up he was so wasted that three days of being home he' s still high his eyes are at half mask his skin is pale and he just wants to feel better. This place is all about the money (11,600 for the week). I know for a fact that they don't personalized the drug regiment for each person. He was so high his whole stay. So needless to say he didn't attend any meetings. Its been a nightmare and i wouldn't put my dog in a place like this..

Provided by YP.comOne star, only because I cannot rate it no stars.
I would not recommend this facility for drug detox. My son entered Sunrise for detox from opiates. He returned home in the worst drug stupor of his life. There was no individualized treatment, as he was given far too greater a regimen than he needed. While there, he was given Suboxone, Valium, Clonidine and Trazodone. Cell phones were allowed, and upon calling home, after the 2nd day he was slurring words and incoherent. Calls into the staff did not help the situation. He was worse each day he was there. Drugs were administered right up to the evening before he left. I was horrified that what was supposed to be a comfortable detox as advertised turned out to be a nightmare that returned home. The other reviews are accurate in that the rooms and beds are very comfortable, wide screen TVs in every room, and filet mignon and lobster tails served at dinner. If this is what you want in a detox, then this place is for you. If you want any type of individualized detox treatment program, then I would say that there are many other more effective treatment facilities available and I would avoid Sunrise Detox at all costs.
By the way, take a look at all the positive reviews on this page. They were all submitted on the same date: 3/14/2011. Enough said.

Provided by YP.comI have seen a lot of detox facilities and Sunrise is by far one of, if not the nicest facility out there. Everything is clean and it is very comfortable for their patients. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a top notch detox facility.

Provided by YP.comI have actually been a patient at Sunrise detox twice, and I must say that although I had a really tough detox, every single staff member there, from the nurses, to even the cook (the food is soo good!) did everything humanly possible to make my stay as comfortable and painless as possible. I have been in many detoxes before, and usually my experience was very negative, mainly because a lot of the times the staff are so judgemental, and always think your exaggerating your detox symptoms, (or MED SEEKING, uchhh) but that was so not the case at Sunrise. If my symptoms worstened, they would address it right away. I felt like MY input, about MY detox was actually taken into consideration each time I voiced a concern. Plus I can honestly say that they have the most comfortable beds in the world. I want to find out what mattresses they use so I can buy one for my house!!

Provided by YP.comIt was that good. This was not my first detox experience. However I believe it will be my last. They taught me so much. Through the help of Sunrise I’ve discovered getting clean and sober is a process … not an event. I can’t say enough about the wealth of resources they had at their disposal to get me the continuing care I needed when I left. They were accommodating to a fault. The facility is gorgeous, clean and more than comfortable. The food (once I got my appetite back) was outstanding.

Provided by YP.comAbout six months ago a very good friend of mine needed help with there 20 year old son.Sunrise Detox went above and beyond they had one of their admissions people talk to my friends son at 8oclock in the evening . After speaking with him the young man felt comfortable enough to get in a car later that night that sunrise detox had sent for him.My friend said that Sunrise did not even ask for money that evening the intake person said lets get your son some help and we will figure out the insurance and your financial responsibily in the morning. This is the way all treatment centers should work and from my point of view this was not a scam at all.My friend said that her son had a great experience and Sunrise helded get her son to another program after detox.I hope i never need these services but if i did i would not hesitate to call Sunrise.

Provided by YP.commy family member stayed at both sunrise locations and the staff were wonderful! They persisited in working on his reluctance to enter treatment and it paid off! He is sober 1 year later and scheduled to bring his experience, strength, and hope to the 12 step meeting at Sunrise NJ!

Provided by YP.comI brought my best friend to this program in Stirling, NJ. He had been in and out of detox places for the last 5 years.
