Provided by YP.comHired Josh Cate/TN Chimney to install wood stove we would be purchasing through him because he said he was a dealer for Napoleon Stoves. His website says “LICENSED AND INSURED” and he is neither licensed nor is he an authorized dealer for Napoleon. And since he is not licensed, he cannot even apply for a building permit to install our stove and he did not even tell us we needed a permit so we could get it. If he is not an authorized dealer the warranty would not be valid except in his name rather than the actual owner of the stove. We gave him half of the estimated $5000 to purchase the stove and chimney materials. When he came out to begin installation of porcelain tile on the wall and floor for fireproofing we discovered he said he didn’t trust his math and the cutting of the backing board was off. And when he did get the floor pad laid we later found that the pad was not large enough to meet the code for stove installation without additional purchases. We called him several times after he installed backing board, leaving messages of concern, and when he found out we were investigating codes, dealers and permits, he finally called back, very upset and indignant. He does not return phone calls well but when he finally showed up to finish the tile work, he agreed to void the so-called contract and initialed a statement saying he would return $1900 of our down payment within three days, and keep $600 for the work he did and supposedly ship the stove back that he said he ordered. That payment is now five days past due and we have not heard from him. The Better Business Bureau is aware of him.

Provided by YP.comI HIGHLY recommend the work of Tennessee Chimney and Home Improvement. When I first spoke with the owners, Josh and Karen, I was still unsure as to whether or not we could find a wood-burning insert to fit my small fireplace. Not only were they able to locate an insert that was a perfect fit, but they took additional measures to be sure it would be 100% safe to operate. The construction of the original fireplace was "pre-fab", and required adaptations--AND, the chimney had a challenging "s-curve" to deal with. In both cases, the owner walked me through the steps that would be required. Even though the installation required several hours work extra on their part, the project was brought in perfectly on budget.
I thought it was also noteworthy to add that they were very tidy with their work and were extrememely considerate to make certain nothing was damaged while making the tight fit.
'Am happy to recommend them. D. Sparks (865) 712-0100
