The Extra Step is both a mobile and an online tutoring service that delivers exceptional personalized, professional tutoring to your home. As an expert in her field, Meryl S. Brown, M.A., nurtures and encourages children to achieve a high level of proficiency in several key areas. In California, she is certified to teach English (grades 7-12), reading (preschool through adult), and social studies, (grades 7-12). Tutoring sessions can be in current subjects, in test preparation (ACT/PSAT/SAT), or in the college selection and application process. In the public school setting, Meryl taught secondary English, reading, history, and Career Guidance/Life Skills. On the college level, she trained DeVry University students for success in Freshman Composition courses.
