All the products at Twisted Trees TX are handcrafted from seasoned wood, most of which has been dead for over 30 years. I have never been able to justify killing a living tree to satisify my personal ambitions. Many of the trees I use are 100 + years old and the majority were killed as a result of pasture reclamation. But even when dead, the mesquite continues to change with the effects of the elements. Natural decay produces chemicals and enzymes that transform not only the density of the wood but also the colors and texture. What I do is remove the infirmities and non-viable portions of the piece and sand and polish what is left to achieve a truly unique specimen that the buyer will be proud to own.
