I was recently in an auto accident and from the second the company tow truck pulled up to the accident site, they lied straight to my face. First, they never stated how much the tow would cost. Second, when I told them my insurance would only pay for the towing bill if they towed the car to somewhere within 10 miles of the accident site. The 2 employees assured me that they would be towing my car just up the road to their lot, which on their business card is 890 S. Irwin St. Thirdly, I asked them what happens if my insurance didn't pay for the towing bill and all the employees would tell me is that my insurance would pay for it and not to worry about anything. Come to find out, the company has another storage lot in Wellford and that is where my vehicle really was towed to. Of course my insurance refused to pay for the bill because my vehicle was towed way more than 10 miles away from the site. Because I'm not working full-time, I couldn't afford to pay for the towing and storage bill, which for a tow and 2 days storage, the price was already close to $400. I couldn't afford the bill myself and so I had no choice except to turn my title over to the owner of Upstate Wrecker Services. The owner is another character. He is extremely rude and all he does is like to hear himself talk so you can never talk to him reasonably about anything. This company is nothing, but full of frauds and will lie with every word they tell you. They even told me their was a city ordinance in Spartanburg that required them to charge $250 for a towing bill. Call the city of Spartanburg police department yourselves and they will tell you that they have never heard of such an ordinance. I never want anyone to go through the stress and torture of having to deal with this company. If you are ever in an accident, do not allow the police officer to call a wrecker for you. Call your insurance and have them find you one themselves. I can not stress enough how badly I pray that no one has to ever go through the same situation with this business owner as I had to endure. Help out the good wreckers and let the croocked ones like Upstate Wrecker Services Inc. suffer. I would rate this company at a 0, but yellow pages won't let me so don't let the 1 star rating fool you, this is the worst business owner I have ever come into contact with in my entire life so far.
