About the Shop Hinault got Tour #1 and your dad was wearing polyester It was 1978, the year Westlake Cyclery first opened its doors. The original location was on Thousand Oaks Blvd in a small storefront. Here the shop grew, selling toys in addition to bicycles and accessories. To gain needed floor space, the store moved to a location on South Westlake Blvd in 1986. In the early 90's, Westlake Cyclery moved into its current location on Willow Lane at the intersection with Hampshire Road. In 2000, Westlake Cyclery was taken over by the current owner Mike Geiger. Mike has brought in a extensive line of quality road, mountain and kids bikes and a complete line of the best accessories and clothing. From the top-of-the-line road bikes from Trek, Lemond, Klein Specialized and Colnago, to cross-country and downhill bikes from Santa Cruz. And Westlake Cyclery now carries our own custom ?Westlake Cyclery? clothing made by Castelli. Mike has been into cycling since about 1990, starting out with a cross country bike. He has worked in numerous bike shops as a mechanic and even drove across the country as a race team support mechanic. He also entered many down hill races at Big Bear and Mammoth Mountain. It is Mike's love of and enthusiasm for biking that drove him to Westlake Cyclery to establish the high level of excellence that exists here.
