Provided by SuperpagesI was practicing with them before taking my driving test this week, and I'm so glad that I chose them! The instructor from Dominican Republic was a very nice and experienced driver and he gave me great advice about how to do well in parallel parking, which I'm least good at. Highly recommended!

Provided by SuperpagesI like driving here where I can understand. I learn more than I would have at home. It is far from free though...

Provided by SuperpagesI'd definitely recommend Brenda, or from what I hear, any non-Russians will do.

Provided by SuperpagesI was grateful to meet the most caring instructor, John, he taught me how to do my parallel parking, and I am now competent.

Provided by SuperpagesBrenda, my instructor came sharp on time to pick me up from home. We got acquainted, and she took me to the road test site and we did the activities needed for the test. I parallel parked for the first time, which went great. We did the three point turn and the fifty feet backing up. I seemed to have passed the test. Then we drove around for an hour. Brenda was really nice, helpful and chatty. She gave me useful measurement tips on when to know I'm too close or far away from the curb, and whether the car is backing straight. Every time we pulled up, she'd open her door to show me how far off the curb I was. She quizzed me on generic questions the examiner might ask, like the hand signals and how to park when uphill/downhill. I'd definitely recommend Brenda

Provided by SuperpagesOverall my experience with Brookline Driving School (BDS) was positive. It is quite on the pricy side but I would recommend it for anyone who is looking to get their license quickly and doesn't have a car or sponsor to take the driving exam

Provided by SuperpagesI decided to learn how to drive later in life not out of necessity but to cross it off of my "list of things to do before i die that could cause me to die while trying to do it". i never had any exposure to driving safety, being in the driver's seat of a car so this was a new experience for me all around. i have nothing but praise for this driving school. i started lessons with the Pleasant Auto School (also excellent, see my review) and switched to Brookline Driving School after my instructor at Pleasant Auto School went on vacation. i don't own a car and didn't have access to cars to practice in the interim so it was important for me to continue with road lessons with as little lapse in time as possible.

Provided by SuperpagesI was a little skeptical of using Brookline Driving after reading some of the other reviews here, but I've had nothing but a positive experience with them. They've clearly either gotten rid of the rude receptionist or she doesn't answer phones anymore, because I've only ever spoken to a friendly Russian man who persists in calling me honey in a charming manner. They return voicemails left for them pretty promptly, have been good about getting in touch about cancellations, and are easy to work with in terms of getting myself scheduled. They also offer lessons 7 x a week, which is really helpful.

Provided by SuperpagesDriving test can be scheduled 1-2 weeks in advance in front of Brookline High School -- this is way more convenient than the times and locations available on the RMV website, and saved you having to get someone to drive you there. Cost was not cheap at $120 (you still have to pay the road test and license fee, this is just to school), but in my opinion it was worth it. You know exactly where you will take the test and likely what roads you'll take the 3point/parallel parking on - instructors were good - at $360 for the 10 hour package, I thought it was reasonable. - many available times for scheduling - I did not have much trouble getting a hold of someone in the office. Yes someone may not answer but they will call back any missed calls. Once I called at 6 pm the day before my lesson for an address change and left a message; they called me back in around an hour to confirm. I was impressed

Provided by SuperpagesAt my age, it was more than a little embarrassing to be picked up by two young girls and have to drive them back to Newton North High my first time behind the wheel in a couple of years. But the instructors are great- they just make you do it, they're not afraid to use the brake or grab the wheel. And that's what I needed- to be forced onto the road. I had Leo, Boris and Inna. They take you to the road test site in Brookline and tell you exactly what to expect. I paid for 10 hours of lessons- I believe that was $300. Two-hour lessons. I did them all in the summer of 2011. But I was still intimidated by the road test. I put it off until the fall of 2012! (This is where the paper system comes into play- I had to tell them the date of my last lesson for them to know how to find my info.) My permit was about to expire in December and I was NOT renewing it again! I scheduled myself one lesson and then the test the next day and Passed!! Thank you, Brookline Driving School.
