One of the best barbecue restaurants in Eastern North Carolina to me. My family has been going here many years. I love this place and it has been a part of my heart always. You have to go here !

I ate at Moores 3 yrs ago, it left a lot to be desired then. Today I tried Moores and got the small BBQ plate and ice tea. Enough to cover a hamburger bun. Still left a lot to be desired. The staff was my first hint, unfriendly as when I got my plate was ask if there was anything else I answered no. $6.93 later I was looking for the cups for ice tea, was advised that tea does not come with the meal, $1.50 plus tax. the cold slaw & hush puppies were very good. Now for the BBQ. it was dry-no taste with pieces of very dry and hard shin and burnt ends and tuff to chew. I put BBQ sauce on and it became soggy, with salt no help. I have cooked BBQ myself and ate at a lot of places in Eastern NC. Other places---murrays--Kings--Billys--clyde coopers--McCalls---smithfields. Just to name a few. The very best being Wilburs in Goldsboro. It will be a long time before I return to Moores BBQ in New Bern. If you think that Moore is good BBQ , For real eastern NC BBQ shop around and you will see what I am referring to.

I love coming here when I want a good all fashion southern meal. pretty good prices.
