I don't know what happened in 2008, but I stayed at the Edelweiss Inn last July and was impressed by the accommodations. In fact, I just looked them up to make a reservation for October 30th when I noticed the two bad reviews from 2008. Well, I just had to state that I got more than my money's worth in July 2014. I guess that's obvious, since I'm going to stay there again in weeks. I would refer this motel to anyone going to New Braunfels.

Most Hateful Hotel Owner Ever

I went to Edelweiss Inn to take advantage of a weekly rate in New Braunfels, TX. I arrived at 9:40pm and went in to check in, I had called about 2 hours earlier to see if he had rooms and the weekly rate. Before I checked in, I wanted to take a look at the room. When I asked, the owner of the hotel started yelling at me saying, "I am giving you room for week at 2 night rate and you want to see the room first!". I told him that I wanted to make sure that my equipment would fit in the room and he started yelling again saying, "It is my policy to not go out this time of night. I will not go out at this time. I will not go out at this time, it is my policy!" I said that I did not want the room then and he yelled at me again saying that his policy is that he cannot go out that late. I asked him why he treated people like that and he just kept repeating that it was his policy. As I was leaving, he told me to come back in the morning and I could see a room then. I didn't go back and will not go back.

Horrible hotel

If I could give it negative stars, I would! I rented a room with 2 double beds, they call it a suite, but I would call it a hole with a microwave and refrigerator. When I first walked into the room and turned the lights on, I saw about 6 or 8 roaches scurry under the bed. Turned the bathroom light on...at least a dozen roaches and other bugs in the tub! Of course I didn't want to stay after seeing that but unfortunately being Memorial Day weekend, there weren't any other rooms available at other hotels. So, after unloading the vehicle, I decided to literally live out of my suitcases because I didn't want to transport roaches back home. After coming back from Schlitterbahn, I showered (after washing the tub first) and cautiously used their towels which smelled odd but seemed clean. After my shower, I headed off to bed and pulled the covers down, removing the comforter because it didn't seem clean at all, and found a lot of hair and what appeared to be grass in the sheets. Luckily, the other bed didn't have the same problem. So, the next morning I woke up with bug bites all around my ankles. I don't know if it was fleas or what, but it was not a great experience. I left that morning and drove on into San Antonio and found a hotel there and just commuted to Schlitterbahn.
