The Henry County Sheriff's Department offers an array of public safety services to more than 50,000 people. Its road division patrols over 500 square miles and provides road deputies. The department s detective division investigates all crimes committed in the county. Located in New Castle, Ind., the Henry County Sheriff's Department manages a 130-plus-bed jail and offers treatment programs for inmates. The department also has a records division that is responsible for the documentation of accident reports, gun permits and tax warrants. It additionally operates a dispatch center that features Motorola, Sun Microsystems, Dell Computer and Compaq equipment.
