I was stranded at sea 31 miles out from the last channel buoy at Hampton Harbor. It was the first time ever for me to have to call for help. I turned my VHF radio to channel 16 and told the coastguard what my problem was. The reply was prompt and I was asked a few questions about my condition and if I had enough water to drink. NOAA arrived first to take me aboard until the coast guard arrived. Being in the military for 8 years I could really appreciate the professional performance of the crew. They made sure that I was alright and took care to see that my boat was not damaged in transit. I wish I could write a commendation letter for the crew but I don't think it was a life or death situation and no one was really in harms way. The least I can do is say THANK YOU very much and I hope your commander will note your job well done.
