Provided by YP.comI understand where you are coming from about the "rudeness." I sort of experienced it when I brought my dog there the other day for her evaluation. I think social skills are not the best when it comes to the owner but she does know dogs very well. The barking lot was our first choice but after multiple calls and emails we could never got a hold of anyone there. This place seems to be the underdog and I like that. They have the worry of lawsuits hanging over their head so I can also understand why they don't want strangers dogs approaching the dogs they are taking care of. After going through all the shots and fecal sample, I'd probably be pretty pissed if my dog got attacked/sick because of an animal outside of the facility. Not the best social skills like I said before, but I can understand where they are coming from. They are still friendly, just not very good at conversations. At the end of the day, I will probably utlilize both The Barking Lot and A Dog's Life depending upon my work schedule. A dog's life is so much more convienent due to the highway.

Provided by YP.comI love A Dog's Life! They are a god send, I feel so safe and secure knowing that my Trixie is happy and safe there. The staff and owner could not have been more accommodating or nice. We were greeted promptly when we arrived for get to know you trial run. I had no problems scheduling the test, even around my very busy schedule, I work from 7:45-5:00 everyday.
I did read a review from someone else on here on how unhelpful and rude the staff was, but I don't believe it, they are amazing. Amy, the owner, is the absolute best and they do have some new staff, but Amy tries to make sure that everyone loves the dog's as much as she does.
I would highly recommend ADL to everyone!!!!!

Provided by YP.comWe called to inquire about taking our dog to A Dog's Life. My fiance and I are both working professionals who work a normal schedule of 8:30-5:00 Monday to Friday. We were told that they would not be able to conduct the initial consultation past 4:30 in the evening and refused to see our dog during their business hours on Saturday or in the morning before work. This left me wondering, is doggy daycare not designed for people who have jobs? In addition, I live near A Dog's Life and had a very unsettling experience with one of the employees. As I was walking past with my dog, some of the other dogs were outside. My dog loves other dogs, and the dogs seemed very excited to see my dog, so I let them sniff each other. The employee then screamed at me "Jesus Christ!" and asked what I was thinking. She said that the dogs were going to bite each other. Not only was I shocked by her rudeness, I was also astonished because I was under the impression that A Dog's Life screened their dogs for aggressiveness and that the dogs would not bite my dog, who was wagging her tail at the sight of other dogs. I found A Dog's Life to be extremely unaccommodating, unprofessional, and downright rude. I would strongly advise against taking your dog there. We have taken our dog to The Barking Lot in Hamden for boarding/daycare and have been very pleased with their compassionate, professional staff. We will be taking her there for regular daycare as well. Even if we have to get up earlier, it is worth it to avoid A Dog's Life.

Provided by YP.comThe staff at A Dog's Life really take the time to get to know your dog and his/her personality! I was convinced my needy pup would never "play" with other dogs or enjoy doggie daycare, but she LOVES it! The patience and care the staff shows for the dogs is amazing. They really love dogs! I recommend this shop to everyone with a pooch.

Provided by YP.comOur neighbors were complaining about the daytime barking from our two dogs. We tried out A Dog's Life daycare and they came home so happy & tired they were even quiet the next day!! The daycare is easy to reach (right off the highway). The establishment is clean and I was able to get my dogs' food and treats too. I will definitely be boarding the girls there over the 4th of July weekend
