I went into Levs the day before Thanksgiving. I was told several years ago I had a debilitating illness that I would die from. Well going into Levs Pawn in New Haven was my first time ever in a pawn shop. I explained to an employee who gave me the name Seth of my illness and wanting to sell some things to be able to buy some Christmas presents. I had a 4 inch lcd car stereo never used, a review mirror with camera for recording front and back travel, I had a projection monitor you hook up to your phone, laptop or other device to get a 120 inch projection again that had never used about 20 rings with various gems which had 14k stamps. Well when I went in I brought my book with all my medical papers showing my illness and my govt permanent disability SSDI. The first thing Seth did was start telling me my things weren't real and I had costume jewelry. Well I had him use diamond tester where he quickly said well the stones may be real but its not in gold. He then told me he was not a geologist so he couldn't take any of the jewelry and he said and I can't take your other items they are not brand names. For a first time in a pawn shop will probably be my last ever. My items were not fake. Why not say come back let the manager take a look instead of treating me like some criminal. Well I realize Walmart isn't great but I paid good money for the electronics and I never heard a pawn shop that was like this. As a lifelong New Haven resident I ask EVERYONE to go elsewhere as I have never been treated so bad. I told Seth and the guy who just sat there on the chair listening that someday when they are sick and dieing I hope they are not treated the way they treated me. I will never forgive those two men and again if you read this think twice before ever setting foot in this store. All I can say is stores like yours will never prosper. I was a Bank manager in New Haven for 5 years besides living and going school in New Haven. You are despicable people.
