This man was tasked with fixing our pressure-washer, a job that he undertook. He cleaned the carburetor and made it so that the engine would run for about 10 seconds... which he charged us $90 for. When we got it back home and hooked it up to water, it proceeded to behave in exactly the same way it did before I took it down there, except that the motor ran for 10 seconds before it quit. Thereafter it wouldn't even do that. I initially told him in a message over the phone that I believed it to be clogged or something of that nature because it would not push water out, running or not. He claims that he has no way to hook it up to water at his shop, which I believe to be ridiculous. So he never did any kind of troubleshooting before or after he "fixed" it. If I had taken my truck to the mechanic because it wouldn't start and he charged me to change the brakes and sent it home without testing the battery, that mechanic would soon be out of business. Smith could/would not fix the pressure washer when we tried to bring it back and he would not even meet us halfway with a refund of $45 for the useless work that he did. If there is anything that I could do to discourage someone from doing business with this man, I would. However good he is at fixing small engines, he treats customers very poorly.
