I brought my car to Secor Chrysler because the airbag light was on. I was told that I needed a new control module for the airbag system. At first they told me that the first module they put in was "defective" and that they put in a second one. After they put in the second one, they called me and told me the car was fixed and ready to be picked up. I went to pick up the car and paid the bill ($1,499.53). As soon as the car started, the same airbag light was on. I drove the car back into the bay, left it running and showed Steve Gonzalez the service manager the airbag light was still on just like when I dropped the car off a month ago. They kept the car a few more days and found some "chafed wires in the steering column" that was causing the light to come on. Once they repaired the wires, the problem was solved and the light went off. Steve Gonzalez then told me that the wires shorted out two control modules (the original and the first control module they put in). I asked him that if the wires shorted out the original control module plus the first one they put in, why did the chafed wires not short out their second replacement since the airbag light was on and I left the car running? Steve Gonzalez' response was, "just lucky I guess". that doesn't make any sense as electrical shorts don't fix themselves. I believe that all I needed was the wires repaired in the steering wheel, not the control module thus they charged me $1,499.53 for a part that I don't believe I needed. And don't even get me started about them telling me over the phone they have no sanitation protocol for customer cars during a global pandemic.
