Founded in 1999, New Orleans Womanspace ( N.O.W.) provides a variety of services to women who are chronically homeless and have have mental disabilities. It provides a safe environment for these women to stabilize before moving to treatment or transitional housing. New Orleans Womanspace is a program that is administered by Resources for Human Development, which is a nonprofit social service organization that is headquartered in Philadelphia and sponsors human service programs in more than five states in the United States.
