Provided by YP.comIn response to Cary R.'S review from the owner:
I usually don't "challenge" guest's reviews, but I felt it necessary in this instance. Cary R's information is correct regarding making her appointment. She's also correct in noting the fact that she didn't make her appointment. The point she didn't make is that not only did she not make the appointment, but she didn't have the courtesy to call and cancel, or explain the situation - she just decided to "no-show, no-call". We always charge full service price in these situations. It has nothing to do with us "hurting that bad for money that they have to rip off their customers" as she states in her review. We pay our therapist to show up and perform her service. Because we care about our employees, we pay them even if the client doesn't show up. If Cary R. would have at least called and cancelled or re-scheduled, there would have been a possibility that we could have filled that spot with another guest. Because she didn't, the spot remained unbooked and we paid the therapist.
Our front desk staff doesn't state "you may be charged a service fee". Our policy is clearly stated in our menu, online and over the phone. It's why we require a credit card to book appointments.
I'm very happy that Cary R. at least admitted that we offered her 50% off her next service (in fact, the price we quoted her was in excess of 50% off). It was a very generous offer that we usually don't extend to guests who "no-show, no-call". This obviously was not good enough for her, causing her to post poor reviews all over the internet. I'm sure most reasonable people will agree that my response has merit.

Provided by YP.comI made an appointment at The Woodhouse Spa New Orleans on my birthday using a gift card that my boyfriend got me. I am a surgical tech and was on call at the last minute the day of my appointment. When I made the appointment they asked for my credit card # and that If I didn't cancel within 24 hours I would be charged a service fee.I was called in and didn't make my birthday appointment. No worries I thought because I would have to pay a small service fee. I checked my bank account to see what the service fee was and I was shocked to see that I was charged for the services that I was scheduled for. They do not tell you over the phone that you will be charged for full services at all. I will never spend another dollar in this place. There is a reason why they are not members of BBB. I didn't realize The Woodhouse Spa was hurting that bad for money that they had to rip off their customers. I was told over the phone that they would gladly give me 50% off my next visit. LOL Poor business etiquette and very poor customer service skills. Happy Birthday to me

Provided by YPmobileBooked a 60 min massage that due to traffic I was going to be late to. They were flexible and moved the time back 15 mins. Also, Joel was awesome, awesome, awesome! Best deep tissue massage I've had in years and he was extremely knowledgeable & explained why I was tense & had knots in certain areas. Worked out the knots gently. And because I was so tense, he extended my time with no charge (of course he didn't have an appt after me). Awesome and I'll def go bk when I visit the city again.
