Moved to Cumberland Gap in January of 2012 and was shocked at the electric rate. My wife and I have decided to move back into Kentucky Middlesburro area where power is much cheaper. I never had a bill over 90 dollars in Kentucky with total electric and over here it hit 185 dollars with us gone half the month with the electric heat turned down to 58. The house I am in now is insulated to-death and has a new modern electric furnace. I would rather pay the car taxes in Kentucky than spend thousands of dollars a year paying a power company that get's it's power from TVA and then charges an even higher rate. I was told it was much cheaper to live in this area and buy your food in Kentucky but it;s cheaper in Kentucky all way around even though K.U. has went up this is ridiculous.
