Gulf Coast Trades Center, founded in 1971 and located in New Waverly, Texas, is a community-based organization that provides assessment, vocational skills training, and remedial education programs. It also offers recreational challenge program, independent living skills training, substance abuse services, casework and peer group counseling, and work and job placements. The center provides services; such as anger management; medical assessment; nutrition and dietary planning; counseling and case management; and residential and after school care for children. It also provides parole services, and recreational activities, including flag football, basketball, weightlifting and ropes course. The organization additionally organizes various sports tournaments, swimming competitions, leagues and talent competitions. It offers 24-hour medical assistance to children.
