In June 1991, The Chowder House took its first baby steps on Oneida street in New Hartford. The doors opened as a self-service smoke free restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Jim, his brother Dave and wife Jan, created recipes for beer battered fish, chowders, and soups. In October of 1997, the Chowder House relocated to it's current location at 57 Burrstone Road in New York Mills. Along with an ever expanding dining & catering menu, the Chowder House enjoys serving up the latest in cocktail libations & Spirits. We cheerish our friends, our customers and hope you too can join us for dinner or just stop in for a drink before closing. We're happy to have you.In June 1991, The Chowder House took its first baby steps on Oneida street in New Hartford.
