Rude and terrifying...
Asked for a swatch and got mocked and yelled in front of everyone for being impolite because I said "could I ask for a swatch help" instead of "excuse me". What?

I discovered B & J fabrics about 10 years ago while on a visit to New York. Since then, I have shopped there many times, in person and via phone and email ( I am a dressmaker living in the Boston area). I've found B & J to be an excellent rersource for beautiful and often unique fabrics. The staff has always been extremely accomodating, efficient and right on in sending me the (free) swatches I request for my clients. I've never experienced a member of the staff be rude or offensive in any way. I've also sent numerous clients there directly to choose their own fabrics and they have consistently told me they loved shopping there. I've shopped at the many other fabric stores in New York, and they each have their pluses and minuses, but I'll continue to rely on B an J as a fabulous resource with a knowledgeable and helpful staff.

I live in the Boston area and have shopped at B & J Fabrics both in person and via telephone and email. I have consistently found them to be extremely accomodating, efficient and pleasant. The range of fabrics is extensive, if somewhat expensive, but the quality is excellent. Since I often shop for clients (I am a dressmaker) I call B & J for fabric swatches to show my clients. B & J usually sends me exactly what I am looking for. The swatches are large enough so you can actually tell what the fabric looks and feels like. They do not charge for samples or postage. I've sent numerous clients there directly to choose their own fabrics --they all tell me it was great shopping there. It would be difficult for me to conduct my business without B & J and the excellent service I have received from them.
