Located in New York City, Covenant House New York is an adolescent care agency serving homeless, runaway and at risk youth. Established in 1969, it serves more than 7,000 youth each year at the community center for safety, crisis care, shelter and food. The agency offers a variety of services, including health care; educational and vocational assistance; drug abuse treatment and prevention programs; legal services; recreation; pastoral care; and mother and child programs. Its services and facilities also include transitional living programs, community resource centers, mental health programs, and assistance in finding long-term living accommodations and after care. Its community resource center offers counseling, referrals, educational and vocational programs, medical and legal services, and youth leadership. Covenant House offers programs in more than 20 cities in United States, including Houston, Los Angeles and Philadelphia, and in Latin America.
