I am an actress and solo performer in NYC. I am writing this review because Dr. David Shafer has changed my life -- and now I want EVERYONE who is contemplating plastic surgery TO THEIR FACE to know that Dr. Shafer is the doctor to trust. Firstly, as a surgeon, this man is a miracle worker, as he combines supreme surgical expertise with exquisite artistry. This, I'm sure, is the main reason why he is rated as the TOP in his field. But also, Dr. Shafer listens. He will sit and hear your concerns. He is extremely unusual in this way, as it is clear by spending time with him that he is one of the most open-hearted and empathic human beings you will ever meet. And these character traits are evident, as well, in his entire staff. His coordinator Eileen is gifted at making you feel at ease and anxiety free -- and her kindness is palpable. I have suffered for several years with a double chin. No matter how thin I was, I couldn't get rid of it. This PLAGUED me while onstage, and finally I confided to my friend who was in show business that I needed to find a surgeon, and her face lit up and she screamed, "Dr. Shafer! He's the best in the business and all of my actress friends and model friends go to him!" I remember thinking that her reaction was quite over-the-top and theatrical. AND NOW...I GET IT COMPLETELY. I HAVE BECOME THAT WOMAN, SHOUTING THIS MAN'S NAME FROM THE ROOFTOPS! Dr. Shafer performed liposuction on my neck/chin/jawline and for the first time in ten years, I feel NO SHAME about my appearance. And people are telling me I look ten years younger. His work is flawless. Thank you, Dr. Shafer, for this gift.

My face to lift was successful pretty much pain-free and in just a week I can go out without anyone noticing anything including black and blues or scarring ,all is minimal

I can even say without makeup I have gone out and I feel and look great

His surgery is fantastic he is fantastic and has made me feel Like I did when I was 30 young , Sexy, And beautiful again thank you just to Schafer your the best:)

I've had a double chin my entire life and finally it's gone for good! It was a simple, relatively pain free experience, my bruising was minimal and the results were immediate! Dr. Shafer was very easy to talk and provided me with the most minimally invasive procedure to address my concerns and achieve my personal goals. His office is impeccable and his staff very friendly and accommodating. Dr. Shafer was also very attentive and after the surgery called to check in and answer any questions/concerns. I had my procedure less than three weeks ago and continue to see improvements in my appearance as the swelling goes down and scar tissue softens. Overall amazing experience and highly recommend Dr. Shafer.

I am very active male. I work out several times a week and do my best to strong and in shape. I have a large neck size and that doesn't bother me one bit. I am 5'11 and weight varies from 230-240lbs depending on time of year and work out regimen.

Over the past few years I began to notice that my neck became a Fat Storage facility. From my jaw bone to my neck line just got fat and it was driving me crazy. Sure it bothered me cuz it made me look a fat around the facial area. Worse than that was the way I felt about myself. Laying down and watching TV or looking down while driving or sitting at a desk etc... It was very annoying and I needed to fix this.



Dr. Shafer did an Amazing job. I had ZERO Bruising and some normal to be expected swelling. Everything Dr. Shafer promised was an understatement. Dr. Shafer is a very down to earth, friendly, likeable person with an ability to perform as a surgeon up there at the very top of all the plastic surgeons around (coast to coast).

Let me add that Dr. Wade is the Greatest Anesthesiologist ever. A super nice/sweet and kind person, very caring and professional. You will feel right no worries with her. Relax, Trust them and let them to their magic. I drifted off for an hour and woke feeling no pain and clear minded...

I had no need for any pain medicine. Sure I had a script but I didn't even need it. I took Tylenol and prior to the procedure I loaded up on Bromelain and Arnica to reduce swelling and minimize bruising (which there was none). I also put Arnica Gel on my neck for the first 48 hours.

I highly recommend using Dr. Shafer and Dr Wade as a team. If you are considering having any procedure done. When you meet Dr Shafer's surgical coordinator Eileen you will agree that she is a Sweetheart... Extremely knowledgeable and professional with such a friendly persona.

Dr. Shafer is the BEST plastic surgeon in NYC. I met with many docs and he was the only one who made me feel comfortable. He is caring, calm has a beautiful office space. I was so worried and the entire process was fantastic. My tummy is flat- it's GONE! As flat as it was when I was 20! I'm thrilled with my results, I simply can't stop smiling. I look sexy, my friends can't believe it, my husband is all over me. I look great in clothes again. Dr. Shafer has changed my life and transformed by body. WORTH EVERY PENNY. Dr. Shafer is a wonderful and caring Doctor. He spent time answering all of my questions as well as my husbands and never rushed us out. His entire staff treated us with kindness and compassion. The procedure results are outstanding! My self-image has improved 100%. I cannot say enough about how wonderful Dr. Shafer is. Dr. Shafer has changed my life. A mother of two small kids. A body that looked like I had 5. I use to be in shape, thin with a cute frame however things changed after the babies that no exercise could make better. I had a herniated belly button, stomach still looking as if I was 5 months pregnant, breasts almost down to my belly button and lop sided with stretch marks on my stomach. OH I was not happy for a long time and then I made the decision that it was mommy time. I researched several different docs and decided on Dr. Shafer. I went with him because he is double board certified and has a background in trauma and he's honest. His demeanor was friendly, knowledgeable, easy to talk to and OH did he do a fantastic job on me. Eileen also made the decision very easy - what a great balance. He was also referred. I am healing beautifully. I can't even begin to tell you that it hasn't been a month yet but my results are so noticeable already that it is mind blowing. My friends and family cant believe the difference and if you saw the before and after photos you would be saying the same thing. I got a reduction, lift, full tummy tuck which fixed my herniated belly button and took away all of my stretch marks. I feel brand new and I look it too. I would highly recommend him - I mean highly.

I went in to have my tattoo surgically removed from my wrist. I was extremely scared and worried about the scar given the location of the tattoo. Dr Shafer was amazing... the incision is soo pencil thin and Im really pleased with the results. Above all, his staff was extremely courteous and professional. Eileen, the surgical coordinator answered all my questions and concerns promptly and i would definitely recommend Dr Shafer to anyone who is looking for a great plastic surgeon.

I was interested in getting both upper and lower lid work done because my eyes were looking very tired, saggy and puffy and made me look sad. I visited 3 doctors before choosing Dr. Shafer so you know I put much research into the procedure. First of all his demeanor is flawless. He is a friendly, personable, surgeon who speaks in a down to earth manner. He went over all the aspects of the surgery in detail, he was honest about what he though I did and did not need and what to expect. He asked me a lot of questions …rare these days! He didn't rush me and was genuinely interested in my concerns and achieving the results I was looking for.



Second he is a gifted surgeon. Nothing odd or over exaggerated was done to my eyes, none of that “surprised look” surgery with literally no visible scarring. Just a smooth, refreshed and bright eyed appearance. I get complements all the time on how well the surgery turned out and how I don't look my age. Now I look as happy and bright on the outside as I feel on the inside and believe me it does change your outlook. I am very happy with the results. He called me after my procedure to make sure I was ok and to see if I needed anything. His staff is an awesome bunch of professionals who keep things running like a well oiled machine. Eileen his coordinator is AWESOME! There is no wait time ever and they are friendly, courteous and go out of their way to make you feel like a celebrity. His office is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, which helps calm the jitters.



I would definitely recommend him and as a matter of fact he made the procedure so hassle free I am going to have my tummy tuck done next – Thank you Dr Dave!

As I have aged, my cheek bones are less prominent and visibly look older. I saw several doctors and consultations that only suggested surgery for cheek implants. When I saw Dr. Shafer, he offered me Juvederm injections on the cheekbones to help fill the missing volume. We did the treatment on that visit. He just needs a few shots, but it made a big difference right away. I recommended Dr. Shafer to my friend and my two sisters already. He is excellent!

My eyelids were hanging, and that seems much older than me. I was having trouble applying makeup and was not enough. My sister and I went to the office of Dr. Shafer for surgery. He conducted a surgery of the eyelids in the office and only took about an hour. The sutures were removed four days later and I'm back to work and feel much better about myself. We never thought that plastic surgery can be as easy and make a significant difference. We are indebted to Dr. Shafer skills and very happy with the results.

I hated the fat under my chin. Dr. Shafer performed Smartlipo in his office and saw the results the next day. There was a week or so of minor swelling a no bruising. I highly recommend Dr. Shafer. His office staff was so nice and he was very professional.

I had implants about about 10 years ago in France. I was never really happy with the results. I recently moved to NYC and my friend suggested that I see Dr. Shafer for a consultation. He suggested replacing the implants and having a lift at the same time. I was really scared about the incisions for the lift, but OMG the results are great. I just wish that I found Dr. Shafer sooner. I highly recommend him.

As a guy in NYC I am very image conscious. A guy at my gym told me about his friend who had liposuction with Dr. Shafer. I made an appointment and found him and his staff to be very friendly and honest. Everyone in his waiting room really spoke highly of him. A woman was there that just had implants and she said she was very happy. Another person was there for Botox and she just couldn't stop talking about how much she loved Dr. Shafer. Anyway, I went in for my consultation and he really knew what he was talking about. We scheduled my liposuction for the following Friday. I had treatments on my belly and my love handles. I really love the results and just wish that I had done it sooner. I highly recommend Dr. Shafer to anyone considering plastic surgery.

After seeing an article about Dr. Shafer, I made an appointment to see him. I was always thinking about having implants, but was always scared to go see a plastic surgeon. The article said that he was very nice and they were right. I told him that I did not like that I have always been smaller on one side. I also told him that I did not want to look like I have implants, I just want to look natural. He suggested that we put a 300 cc implant in the smaller side and a 225 cc implant in the larger side to try and even out the size. The result was great. I now look much more even and I am so happy with the natural look and size.

He is one of the kindest and most caring Doctors in New York city.. His pre and post care was great.. I never waited for my appointment time more than 5 minutes and the office staff was just as nice and caring... I would highly recommend Dr. Shafer as a plastic surgeon.. I love my smart lipo I got!! He did an amazing job! ... I'm so thankful someone told me about him and i'll definely will go back to him for other procedures in the futures...He's someone you can trust...

For one year I interviewed many plastic surgeons and chose Dr Shafer to do my face,neck and eyes.I certainly made the right choice! My surgery results are fantastic and Dr Shafer's pre and post op care has been terrific. Not only is he a very skilled surgeon but he has an excellent sense of aesthetics and the end results make one appear as a younger and refreshed version of oneself and not the unrecognizable hideous version that is so often the case.

I had very little bruising, absolutely no pain and was up and about within four days of surgery and back at work within 10 days. Dr Shafer completely monitored my post op care and not only came to check in on me daily but called my nurses frequently throughout the day to make sure I was getting proper care.



This was the best experience with the best results possible! I highly recommend Dr Shafer-you will not be disappointed.

Over the past year, I have been actively researching for a doctor who I can trust my face. I finally discovered Dr Shafer whom, I believe it to be a perfect fit for me. During our consultation, Dr Shafer was extremely personable, kind, gentle and knowledgeable in this area. Dr Shafer not only was an active listener but also noted to place his patients first and not what he believes should be best for him/her. After several botox and VIVITE skin treatments, I have noticed a huge improvement in my skin. I now have not only smooth and silky skin but also a natural appearance. I now, do not need heavy face make up but only a light blush and lip gloss. By the way, all my friends at work have been complementing me, saying "you look so nice, what did you do" ? Your wise recommendation of botox and VIVITE skin treatment is perfect for me at this stage of my life. It's not only painless but very effective. I see Dr. Shafer for botox. He really listened to what I wanted and what I did not want. Results are great! I look fresher and younger but I still have full expression in my face, which is very important in my work. My forehead even feels better and I also seem to have less tension headaches. I took a look at Dr. Shafer's before and after photos for facelifts. This guy is an artist! I probably will go with a facelift next. I am a very private person so I really like the private entrance/exit for Dr. Shafer's office and the possibility of a home visit after my facelift so I do not need to get out in public before I want to.
