Megan grew up in Brookhaven, NY before moving to New Hampshire to complete her Bachelors in Health Science at Franklin Pierce University. While she was there, she was a member and a captain for the women’s lacrosse team and also part of the athletic training room staff. Megan then moved back to New York to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Columbia University. At Columbia, she completed the Adult Neurorehabilitation advanced track and became certified in NIH Stroke Scale, American Spinal Injury Association Certification, and APDA Parkinson’s Disease training for fitness professionals. She was also a member of the research team studying the usefulness of a fitness and movement taxonomy table to promote clinical decision making for physical therapist incorporating active video games into their PT sessions for youth with Cerebral Palsy and other neuromotor disabilities. Megan continued to be active throughout her studies by participating in basketball leagues as well as pick-up soccer games with classmates and weightlifting. When she can, Megan enjoys spending her time on the water sailing, kayaking and racing on her stand-up paddle board.
