Founded in 1963, Foundation for Contemporary exhibitions and sales of works donated by the visual artists. Based in New York, N.Y. the foundation offers nonrestrictive grants to individuals working in performance art, music/sound and the visual art. It supports its grant programs through the sale of artists' works and through direct financial contributions. The Foundation for Contemporary provides grants in five categories, including dance, music/sound, performance art/theater, poetry and the visual arts.
