Provided by YP.comThe Freedom Institute might be a valid organization for adults, but clearly is not equipped to treat adolescents and young adults. I brought my son for an evaluation which they were happy to schedule and charge for eventhough they knew that they had no services to offer him. The interviewer, Alex Dayton suggested another program or further evaluation sessions with him.! He was not willing to cancel the visit when I pointed out how unethical it was to have us come for a program that doesn't exit. It was also not reassuring that he was so comfortable making recommendations after only a 90 minute session. This would be difficult for any clinician, but you have to give him great credit as he only has minimal training in the field. The institute did finally give me a refund and acknowleged that this shouldn't happen. I hope that I can prevent some other family from wasting their time. I expect better particularly when peple are dealing with children.

Provided by YP.comThis place can be best described in 3 words: brainwashing gone wild! I have never believed in AA and/or the 12-Step approach (did absolutely nothing for me). I attended multiple AA meetings and came to the conclusion that these are the most miserable people on the planet. While sitting in a group meeting at the Freedom Institute, I just couldn't wait for the "councelor" to encourage us to pat each other on the back for being so miserable. Just like AA, the FI wants you to believe that you are broken, sick and need to remain abstinent through the contact with some "Higher Power" = brainwashing. STAY AWAY.
