Dr. Helen Ouyang is aboard-certified emergency physician and Associate Professor of EmergencyMedicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She is a contributing writer for The New York TimesMagazine and has also written for The Atlantic, Harper’s, Los Angeles Times,New York, The New Yorker, The Washington Post, and others. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts fromBrown University, she attended medical school at the Johns Hopkins School ofMedicine and earned a Master of Public Health from Harvard, where she was alsoa Zuckerman Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government’s Center forPublic Leadership. She completed her residency training in emergency medicine atHarvard's Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham & Women’s Hospital.Dr. Ouyang currently serves as an attending physician at NewYork-PresbyterianHospital inNew York City.
