Provided by YP.comThis is an excellent restaurant serving quality American cuisine in an atmosphere inspired by the early 20th century architects Greene and Greene (wood accents with softly rounded corners, beautiful joinery). The food is generally of superb quality using fresh ingrediants, locally grown as much as possible. The menu changes with the seasons and always includes nightly specials. The soups are always wonderfully flavorable with a standout being a tomato based gazpacho enlivened with a scoop of lump crab meat salad. Other appetizers range from a fresh seafood platter (for 2) to meaty, falling off the bone spare ribs.
Main courses feature fish, meat and pasta selections, usually served with flavored foams, reductions and vegetables. There is always a fish special and a meat special which I usually end up ordering one of these because they are always superb with unusual and very satisfying combinations of flavors.
Desserts are uniformly well presented and delicious with the possible exception of the lemon tart which suffers from a leaden crust. My only criticism of the desserts is that sometimes they can go a little overboard, adding a superfluous scoop of intensely chocolate brulee to an otherwise excellent sour cream cheese cake.
