Established in 1969 with the merger between the Amerada Corporation and Hess Oil and Chemical, Hess has headquarters in New York. The corporation also has operations in the United Kingdom, Norway, Denmark, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Azerbaijan, Thailand and Indonesia. Its manufacturing facilities are certified according to ISO 14000 standards. The company trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol HES.
